Apadilangit currently have three academic advisors that give us advice as well as check and balance for our module contents.

1. Dr. Mohd Saiful Anwar bin Mohd Nawawi

Dr. Mohd Saiful Anwar bin Mohd Nawawi

Mohd Saiful Anwar Mohd Nawawi is a senior lecturer for Islamic Astronomy programme of Universiti Malaya. He is appointed by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) as the Islamic Astronomy expert panel since 2015 until now. Besides that, he is also the Negeri Sembilan committee member of new moon sighting. He received early education from Maktab Mahmud Alor Setar, Kedah and furthering his degree study of Ijazah Sarjana Muda Syariah (Falak Syari’e) on 2006. He received his master from Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya on 2011. He then pursued PhD in Islamic Astronomy on 2014 from the same university. He got the opportunity to join the research methodology course in the year 2012 at The World Islamic Science & Education University, Amman Jordan and again, in the year 2013 he had the opportunity to join the same course at Universiti Islam Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, in 2017, he went to join a short-term course of Science and Religion course at University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. In Islamic Astronomy research field, he is directly involved in the New Moon Observation of Every Hijri Month project since 2002 until now and also in the research of fajar sadiq in Kelantan for 2018 and 2019. He also did a research regarding total solar eclipse that was observed in Guangzhou, China in 2009 and Palembang, Indonesia in 2016. Other than publishing book and articles about Islamic Astronomy in the local and international journals, he also presented research paper in international level such as in United Kingdom, Indonesia, Thailand and Korea. In 2018, he presented his works at the international conference of Communicating Astronomy with The Public in Fukuoka, Japan which was organised by the International Astronomical Union. Now, he holds the position as the President of Persatuan Jurufalak Syarie Malaysia.

2. Dr. Raihana binti Abdul Wahab

Dr. Raihana binti Abdul Wahab

Raihana Abdul Wahab’s main research interest is on the Islamic Astronomy, particularly in Observational Astronomy. She was born at General Hospital Ipoh Perak. She received her early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Satu,Tapah,Perak. Then she further her secondary level at Sekolah Raja Perempuan Taayah, Ipoh,Perak. She graduated with Bachelor degree in Shariah major in Islamic Astronomy from the University of Malaya and holds Ph.D. in Islamic Astronomy from University Malaya in 2014. She has a particular interest in the Quranic and Hadith Research related to Astronomy. She has been invited to deliver talks about the several topics in Islamic Astronomy Research in Malaysia. Since 2015, she appointed as a Senior Lecturer for Islamic Astronomy Programme under Department of Fiqh and Usul, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. She has written more than 10 articles in international and local journals.

3. Dr. Norilmi Amilia binti Ismail

Dr. Norilmi Amilia binti Ismail

Norilmi Amilia Ismail is passionate and dedicated academics in School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She was graduated in Aerospace Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2004. After two years of working in the automobile industry, her interest in Aerospace made her leave the industry and further her study at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. She was awarded MSc in Space Mission Design and Analysis in 2007 and PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 where she researched the Dynamics of the Motorized Momentum Exchange Tether. She started her teaching in USM in early 2011 and drove her passion for teaching to gain the interest of the undergraduate students and publics to Space. She is actively involved in the outreach program organised by the university and the local community in space education in Malaysia. She has been recognised internationally on her movement to educate students and public on Space industry through the events of Space Generation Advisory Council and become the first President of Malaysia Space Initiative, the NGO for Space enthusiasts. She is also leading a research group in developing a Nano-Satellite called MYSat in USM for their research in earthquake prediction and was assisted her student in founding a startup company named SpaceIn, which based on space technology and education. She has produced a product name CanSat Kit for Education (CaKEd) that won silver in ITEX 2018 and Gold in MTE 2019 and currently working in developing a Tethered Aerostat System for rural communication. Known as the balloonist, who was the first launched a high altitude balloon in Malaysia for research and commercial, she is a firm believer that Malaysia could produce the local talents in developing the space technology in Malaysia.
